It’s time we have the talk.
I mean you and me.
I have over 20 years experience in the field of sex education and I have a lot to share with you. I want to teach you how to be your child’s primary educator on sex and relationships. As parents we are the sole authority over our children. No one wants the best for your kids as much as you do. Your children are waiting for you to lead this conversation and only you can give them the best guidance. I can teach you to be their greatest resource on this subject.
My goal is to equip parents to have life long conversations with their children about God’s creation and purpose for humanity, identity, marriage, family, and sexual intimacy.
Consider This
Sexual Risk Reduction
All Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and HIV prevention efforts focus solely on Sexual Risk Reduction (SRR) education. SRR is the only approach of Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE).
Sexual Risk Reduction is a secondary health approach working on the belief that all children are sexually active and teaches them to use condoms, lubrication, hormonal contraception and testing to simply reduce their risk of disease and pregnancy. All sexual activities are described in detail with the associated body fluids. STIs are described by methods of transmission (sexual activities, bodily fluids). Condoms and lubrication are the only prevention approach discussed in detail. Since condom effectiveness rates are 59% or less for most STI’s, the educator recommends frequent testing and treatment. But this method is not working because the STI rates are still rising and our children are suffering.
Youth ages 15-24 make up just 27% of the sexually active US population, but account for 50% of the new STD infections each year
CSE programs encourage STI testing because they know it’s a matter of WHEN you get infected because condoms are not full proof.
What Teens Say
Majority of sexually active teens say that they regret becoming sexually active and wish they had waited.
Teens say CSE classes make them feel pressured to have sex
Teens say that condom demonstrations make them feel that sex is expected of them.
Teens say that PARENTS have the greatest influence on their decision and attitude about sex, if parents would talk to them.
"Parents are
essential."
